Grex Musicus is the first album of the Grex Musicus Chamber Choir. Album was released in 1996 and by the time Grex Musicus Chamber Choir had received praise for instance from the Chorus Review of the Tampere Sävel Festival and from The United States where choir had been touring. The patient waiting and hard work resulted a record which looks like the choir - fresh, youthful and versatile.
Grex Musicus consists roughly of three categories of songs. Album begins with traditional gospel songs from the United States (Shenandoah, Amazing Grace) continues with rythms and sounds from the Latin America (Juramento, Barcarola) and ends with the traditional Finnish songs (Kirjeen sulle kirjootan, Veret tuli mun silimihini).
